How can I access the Clinical Handbook of Psychotropic Drugs ONLINE or the Clinical Handbook of Psychotropic Drugs for Children and Adolescents ONLINE?
For access to either version you need two things: (a) an active user account and (b) a valid subscription to the version you wish to use. Access is then quick and easy by password-protected login.

What sort of subscriptions are available?
Access to the CHPD ONLINE and/or the CHPD for Children and Adolescents ONLINE for individuals is available by means of a rolling 2-year subscription, please see here. Once your subscription order has been processed, we provide an access code (usually within 72 hours) that you can redeem via your user account.
If you are interested in institutional access, please contact us at chpd-online@hogrefe.com with your particular requirements; institutional access is subject to written agreement including separate terms and conditions. How do I redeem an access code?
To redeem an access code, please log on, go to "My Account" and select "Redeem Access Code".

How do I log on?
You can log on here at any time, using the e-mail address you entered and the password you chose when you created your account.

What happens with the personal details I supply?
Personal details supplied to us through this website will be maintained and used in accordance with our privacy policy. We do not share personal data with other companies for marketing or similar purposes.

Can I change my password and other personal details?
You can change your password, e-mail address, and other personal details at any time when you are logged on by choosing “My Account” from the menu top right.

I have forgotten my password, what do I do now?
Please click on the forgotten password option in the log on screen and enter your e-mail address (i.e., the e-mail address registered with your account). You will then receive an e-mail containing a link for resetting your password.

Do I have to accept cookies?
Yes. The CHPD ONLINE and the CHPD for Children and Adolescents ONLINE employ cookies for user authentication, you therefore need to have acceptance of cookies enabled in your browser settings while you are using the either version. If you prefer browser settings that only accept cookies from certain websites, please ensure that chpd.hogrefe.com is on your list of trusted sites.

Do I need Javascript?
Yes, Javascript needs to be enabled on your computer so that you can use the CHPD ONLINE and/or the CHPD for Children and Adolescents ONLINE.

I have cookies enabled but cannot log on, what do I do now?
To ensure that you are not attempting to access the CHPD Online or the CHPD for Children and Adolescents ONLINE via an outdated or malfunctioning bookmark, please empty your browser cache and log on directly from the CHPD online portal here.

Can I use the CHPD ONLINE or the CHPD for Children and Adolescents ONLINE with a handheld device?
Accessing either version with a tablet computer is fine. Please ensure that you are using the current version of your preferred browser.

How do I find information in the CHPD ONLINE and/or the CHPD for Children and Adolescents ONLINE?
Information can be accessed in various ways:
- the full text can be navigated via the contents menu on the left; a list of the subsections within any chosen section will be displayed for a quick overview. Click on any subsection to expand the text and collapse it again with another click;
- information on specific generic names, trade names, indications, and interacting agents can be targeted via the browse lists at the top of the menu;
- type into the search field and choose any of the search terms offered by the auto-completion feature

How can I use the colors and icons for guidance?
The CHPD ONLINE and the CHPD for Children and Adolescents ONLINE use color coding and icons to support intuitive navigation and information access. For a summary of the colors and icons used, please see here.

How can I view the contents of tables larger than the screen?
Tables can be navigated using the vertical scrollbar on the right and the horizontal scrollbar at the foot of each table. Column and row heads are fixed for easy orientation.

Can I access the information in tables in any other way?
The Display Options in the navigation allow you to switch to a list view of the table contents (and, of course, switch back to table view).

How can I view all the information contained in the CHPD on a drug?
Go to Drug Monographs in the navigation's Browse features and click on the drug that you are interested in to see all the information on the chosen drug as a monograph. You can expand/collapse individual subsections within the monograph by clicking on the section header, or expand/collapse all subsections simultaneously using the Display Options in the navigation. The Display Options also allow you to quickly Show/Hide other drugs in the same class for quick reference. When you choose to display other drugs, information on these is shown with a colored background.

How can I compare different drugs?
In the navigation, go to the Drug Monographs section of the Browse features and activate the check boxes of the drugs you wish to compare, then click "Compare Selected" to view information on the seleced drugs side by side. Information that is identical for both drugs is presented as gray text. Information that applies only to one drug is presented as black text. The Display Options in the navigation allow you to either show or hide the identical text sections.

Can I download information from the CHPD ONLINE and/or the CHPD for Children and Adolescents ONLINE?
The CHPD ONLINE and the CHPD for Children and Adolescents ONLINE are strictly online resources, i.e., you need to be online whenever you want to use either of them. The Patient Information Sheets, available as pdf files, are an exception to this rule. These may be downloaded by authorized users and printed and handed out to patients and/or their relatives/caregivers in the course of the authorized user’s personal practice.

Can I print out information from the CHPD ONLINE and/or the CHPD for Children and Adolescents ONLINE?
The contents of this website may be viewed and printed by authorized users for their personal use only.

Can I share information from the CHPD ONLINE and/or the CHPD for Children and Adolescents ONLINE?
Each account may only be used to access the CHPD ONLINE and/or the CHPD for Children and Adolescents ONLINE by the individual subscriber who has registered the account. Use by third parties is not permitted.
